Friday Morning 7/14

Goodmorning! Its Friday here in Ukraine. We have adjusted to the time change and are happy to report that Abbie is back to a regular sleep routine. Praise God! Thank you for your prayers. Wednesday we went to the Zoo here in Kyiv with our friend, Lena...that was an interesting experience. Lets just say we have been spoiled by the San Diego Zoo! We were amazed at how close we were able to get to the animals. Abbie especially enjoyed the Rhinoceros (the real one, and the rhino bench)! And the petting zoo was very fun- complete with greedy pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, and muskrats! You should have seen the way they gathered around for some food. Thursday we were able to re-connect with one of Scott's Russian instructors and Ukrainian "mother" while he was here in 1992, Lucy. We were able to reach some of the believers in Bila Tserkva over the phone. We are more up-to-date here than at home, as we have rented a cell phone! Bila Tserkva, "White Church" in English, is a city about 80 miles south of Kyiv. One of the churches we are here to visit is there. We are going there this weekend as they are having a few "events". We will be staying with a missionary family there and traveling down with their preacher tonight. We are looking forward to finally getting to meet some of the church members. Please pray that we will be an encouragement! We should be back in Kyiv on Monday, and able to be back on-line. We are so grateful to be here, and thankful for the opportunity to learn from our Ukrainian brothers and sisters.
