Morning - Wednesday, July 13

As you can see, we were finally able to get an internet connection. But we had to visit the Ukrainian Education Center to do it. And unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the pictures I had intended to include with these postings transferred. I will try to update these entries with some photos the next time around. We are still figuring things out, and adjusting to the time change a bit (especially Abbie) but are doing well.

Much love,
The Broadways

Scott and Katherine,
I had no idea you guys were going to the Ukraine! I am happy to read that all is well with you, and thanks for writing this blog so we can keep up with what is going on. Much love to you both and little Abbie. Also, send my best to Chris and Lena.
Love you,
Tracy Dean

Hello, Scott, Katherine & Abbie! Glad to see you arrived safely and are getting set up despite the predictably unexpected hiccups. Bethany has been asking for Abbie pretty regularly and will be so happy to see her again when you get back. In the meantime, thanks for setting this up. We look forward to reading about your adventures, and we pray God blesses every step you take on this trip.

Hey,
I wondered if Oleg was the friend you were visiting in Germany. Sounds like a good reunion AFTER a flight no one would envy! We're so glad to hear you arrived safely, if not uneventfully. Sorry about the great "luggage fiasco" and I hope that, now that you have unloaded all that onto the journal, the memory will begin to fade and soon seem like only a bad dream -- maybe NIGHTMARE!! It sounds like there have been so many changes since you were there, Scott, that it almost feels like going to someplace you have never been before. How about the changes in Oleg's family status in these few short years? Hard to imagine, huh? This journal helps us feel like you are not so very far away. I'm so glad you thought of it. I was also very glad to read about the lo-o-o-o-ng night's sleep you had. I'm sure you're not caught up in the rest department yet, but that sounds like a good start. Please take care and don't let yourselves get so run-down. I know you only have a set amt of time to work in, but a worker who is compromised can not achieve as much as one who is strong and healthy. So be well -- all of you. We pray for you and your mission. Take care and God bless.
Love,
Mama & Daddy

We are so grateful you arrived safely! We continue to pray for you.
Ben's mom is here in Chicago with us this weekend, so we'll be doing our own walking explorations of this city over the next few days (thankfully, without a stroller).

Love,

Benjamin, Helen, and Larry
